Volunteer with Lepo 'Ula

It’s a labor of love and we’re working hard to secure stable funding for permanent positions. We’re growing – and so will our opportunities. We’d be most honored and privileged (we would love it!) to have a moment of your time.

Hive-Building

Lepo ʻUla is also the name of our working farm in South Ka‘ū, an epic location along the southern flank of the largest active volcano on Earth. It’s covered in a thick layer of 300-year young lava flow, so we’ve got a lot of work to do in turning it into the agro-economic hub and headquarters we want it to be. Help us put in the work to build our hive.

Farm Work

Rare is the mahi’ai (farmer) who doesn’t have work to do – it may as well be an adage! Join us as hanalima (helping hands) to support a local farmer in need. Get dirty (like those dirty guys pictured on the right) and have fun connecting with ʻāina.

Events and Workshops

Cultural workshops, seasonal festivals, tabling, farmer’s markets – you name it, we probably have plans for it. It really does take a community to build community, so if you’ve got the time, we’ve got the opportunity!

Conservation

The district of Ka‘ū is larger than the island of O’ahu and there’s a whole lot of wahi pana (storied places), wahi kapu (sacred places), and natural-cultural resources that need protecting.

Support Lepo ‘Ula Today
